  • 2008 Sundance Film Festival

Sundance has always generated well designed websites, but lately they seem to have gone to a more flash based approach, which, frankly, I'm not a big fan of. The Sundance Institute site takes forever to load. And for what, I'm not sure. But this film festival site is really nice. ... More

  • Reason

I'm really not sure if this is a small company or just one guy, Jaco Joubert. Everything is "we" this and "we" that, but then at the top it says "The design studio of Jaco Joubert." So maybe this will be sort of a backhanded compliment by saying it doesn't ... More

  • Edgewater Cottage Community

I like sites that bring tangible items onto the screen. I like the idea that someone took an item, and scanned it or photographed and turned it into an element for their design. This site has that, with the photo corner edges and the stamp overlay, and it helps portray ... More

  • Frieze

Frieze is "Europe’s leading magazine of contemporary art and culture". The site is clean and simple with great layout able to present a lot of content on the home page without being overwhelming. I like that it's basically all black and white, which lets the color photos, while small, really ... More

  • TEN - Teaching Excellence Network

I mentioned the other day in the post about the new Weightshift design that they do great work. Well, here's an example of it. What I like about this site is that it's devoid of fluff. It's a community site for teachers, and the blog and messageboard are right up ... More

  • Denver Seminary

This is just a beautiful site. Ekklesia 360 has done an excellent job. Managing to put together such a deep site while keeping it cohesive is an impressive feat. It's not lacking in attention to detail and the colors, type choices, and photography are excellent throughout.

  • danielpospisil.cz

I really like the modularity in the look of this website. The colors play well together and are different enough to catch my eye. Good use of the page-fold in the design too.

  • UMS Interviews: Roger Johansson

This is the first in a series of interviews that we'll be doing. Focused on design and web professionals, hopefully this will serve as an educational and informative insight into how people work, what inspires them and how they got where they are. We'll start off with Roger Johansson, of ... More

  • Weightshift

Weightshift is a small studio headed up by Naz Hamid, and they do great work. Just check out their portfolio. This is his recently launched site, seemingly a year or more in development. That's what it's like sometimes when you try to do your own work. It looks great and ... More

  • Emptees

This is another great site from the guys at Big Cartel. They really do great work. Clean, simple, and effective.
