   Not bad, nice and simple, and another example of putting the most important stuff (the featured article in this case) first on the page, even before any branding.

   The contrast on the nav could be bumped up a little though, and it doesn’t validate (unencoded ampersand).

   I like the design, the colours are very subtle and inoffensive but there’s not really much contrast in the nav and it’s a little hard to see. The big headers are really effective and make the site seem more like a newspaper, good redesign.
