Congratulations to UK Website Design Company, Suspire Media, who emerges strong from the Gallery Preview today.
One of the marks of a great product design is how the controls “feel.” Is there good response from the controls? Or are they too soft? Too stiff? It’s one of the primary factors that made the iPod great — using the product just felt right.
That’s what I like most about this site. The information is all well organized and well presented, and the navigation helps you easily find what you’re looking for, but most of all using the navigation just “feels” right.
And on top of everything else, they do it with pure, clean, well-formed CSS.
A very refreshing site.
I liked the site very much. Especially the menu, they looks cool.
Ok, so it looks as though no-one will speak up until there’s been at least a review or two to either agree with or argue against!?! Here goes then…
Suspire Media is just one of those sites that immediately grabs you with it’s very subtle but effective layout and soft gradients. When you stand back and look at it structuraly it really isn’t anything special (in terms of layout, etc) - but there’s something about it that just makes it “pop”.
Like Shane pointed out (and I have to agree) it’s clearly the whole header and navigation that is the real success story of this website. As soon as I saw it I had to play around with it - hovering here, and hovering there! Really simple, but again very effective and feels very solid.
My only negative would be the lack of an image at the top of the “related content” column on the inner pages. The homepage is really brought to life with the vibrant image of the earwig site (also a very similar and catchy design), which makes the rest of the pages feel a bit flat.
Overall, a good site with those fancy little extra (but critical) touches that I strive for in my own work to make a page stand out from the rest.
