yesinsurance.co.uk

There are just so many great things about yesinsurance.co.uk. As soon as saw it, I knew it would be a hit.
For me, first and foremost, it’s great because it looks nothing like an insurance site. In a stodgy, mature industry like insurance, differentiation is so important. They clearly understand that.
Second, you see very few sites built well in valid XHTML Strict — especially not actual company websites. Very nicely done.
Finally, there are just so many nice details to this site that you find as you really look around. There’s a depth there that clearly took a long time to develop. I like sites where it pays to look around.

Wtf is this? lol. Not a very thought out web site imo. The target audience seems of those from age 6-10. I wouldnt buy insurance from such a cartoony interface. I would re-think business. Web sites first impression should be made so you don’t “re-think” why you are here. 1/10
I would have to agree.
I think the illustrations (allbeit very good ones!) get in the way of the most important thing. The information.
The first time i cast an eye on the homepage, i thought wow! how cool!
After the initial impression given by the site, i then found it very hard to read and interact with the rest of the site.
Also, for an insurance site it seems quite childish. And last time i checked you had to be over 18 to buy insurance.
Nice markup though!
The markup is beautiful and the development team should be recognised for crafting the excellent code. However a ‘funky’ background graphic does not sustain a good user experience. Beyond the animations and initial pause in interest this site feels cloaked in style over substance.
The success of an insurance sales site is most likely to be measured on the sales - and therefore the ‘quote and fulfilment’ process is going to be a high priority. And here it appears that the quote screens do not share the same online brand treatment.
I like the treatment of the subnavigation.
although it is innovative, it’s far too gimmicky. it makes me wonder what they really do in their marketing department and if they’re really in the insurance business.
no, i’d rather buy from a bland and boring site like geico.com, where their gimmicky gecko doesn’t overpower the entire site.
Think about the brand for a minute. The insurance company didnt develop the site, they briefed the agency on what THEY wanted. They knew their market and fun was what they were clearly going for.
You may knock the marketing technique, but the website has been delivered perfectly.
I just bought car insurance with yesinsurance.co.uk and was not confused with the illustrous graphics actually. i thought it was a plus too. I had no problems navigating my way thru the site. Insurance business is bland if you think of the super dodgy fake ads on tv. it’s good to see something uplifting and pleasing to the eye.
