And the Winner Is…
Thanks so much to both Ryan and Mark who submitted entries in the Nursing Voices.com design contest. Humorously, neither one of them is ready for me to link to their own site yet, so all you get is their first names for now :) Once they’re ready, though, I’ll post bios of them here to give them the recognition they deserve.
I really, really liked both of their designs and would have been very happy to go with either one. I’ll talk about them in the order that I received them.
What I liked most about this one was:
- The cleanness and professionalism of it.
- The sidebar, with the neat dilineations of each section.
- The clear dilineation of each posting.
What I liked most about Mark’s was:
- The warmth and comfort of it.
- The great color palette.
- The richness and depth.
- The little touches, like the bullets for the list and the icons for Keep Reading and Comments.
Like I said, I would have been quite happy to go with either one, but in the end there had to be a winner. So, after consulting with the owners, we have opted to with the design from Mark. He will receive prominent exposure on the site once it goes live and deservedly so.
I think we’ll be hearing more from both of these guys in the year or two to come. Definitely two young guys with great potential.

Let me be first to congratulate Mark on a stunning entry! It is indeed warmer and more inviting then mine. I guess I tend to lean more towards the minimalistic side of things.
And I’m working on my site. ;)
Great entries and great decision! I really like Marks, you got a great deal there!
Wow, all I can say is thanks for the great comments! Ryan, I really do like your design, too. It’s very professional and simply well constructed for all visitors - I like that.
I really appreciate Shane giving us the opportunity to show our skills to the rest of the designing community.
I’m aso working on my website, and will be sure to get it done ASAP.
Thanks again Shane!
Congratulation! Great Design.
Two very nice entries. The first one is lacking some color I think - the reason why I see that Mark’s was chosen.
Looking forward to the next contest.
