Help Chris Rhee
UMS is part of the 9rules blog network. 9rules was created with the intention of helping network members with their sites and professional lives, but if we can do something (even a little bit) to help our personal lives, that’s a good thing.
With that in mind, I’m passing along the story of Chris Rhee. A 9rules member and friend, he recently had a ton of electronic equipment stolen while doing some work in San Francisco, and we’re trying to help him get the stuff back through lots of small donations. See http://stolen.stoptape.com/about/ to get the full story.

Buddies drinking… expensive equipment…
Was the car even locked? Because in this world, you can’t leave that stuff in an unlocked car… That would be absurd.
This guy may have had a donation from me if he hadn’t come across as so blatantly irresponsible, mainly via his (at the time inebriated) friend’s account of what happened.
I should probably find some time in between work to post my version of what happened…
My friend (Steven) who wrote the story you probably read was drinking with an actor. My friend who was driving and I weren’t drunk — aside from the rare glass of wine, I’ve never drank alcohol before.
We locked the car door, but what happened was the car battery died sometime while we were filming.
The door lock is electric, so pressing the car lock button didn’t do anything and we didn’t notice the car battery was dead until we tried to start the car to look for who stole the equipment.
I don’t mind people not donating cause they don’t care, but if you got questions, I got answers, haha.
