I’m just focusing on Sewanee’s homepage here but it is doing something a lot of other schools wish they could do, keeping it simple. It’s true it’s probably able to do this because it’s a lot smaller but it still seems to focus on the right audiences rather than crowd the page with links. The design is also responsive which is rare in university sites and that’s another nod to their credit – even if it’s not the most elegant responsive solution.

It wouldn’t hurt to take a stronger stance on branding and photography and show off some of it’s natural and adventurous roots that come through so well in the promo video.
